I take good care of my computers, so I sometimes forget how horrible Windows can be when it's been treated badly. Then I remember when people take their crumbling boxes to me for maintenance. Still, anything that turns two-and-a-half hours into my life into sixty cash-dollars (which will probably turn into baklavas and sandwiches (which will probably turn into-( Do not make a poop joke. -ed))) is probably worth it. Finished "Children of the Alley" tonight (though I think I was supposed to finish it last week. Cursed University reading schedules). The first four chapters break down roughly into the stories of Adam(Adham), Moses(Gabal), Jesus(Rifaa), and Muhammad(Qassim), with significant creative liberties. The fifth chapter focuses on Arafa, who seems to be a stand in for the entirety of modern science (or "magic", as the book calls it). This is where the parallels to biblical figures get a bit weird: ( Spoilers for a book you will never read. )Repeat with me: "what."
